My name is Scotch Jock, and I am a Scottish teddy bear. I was born in 1917, making me very old.
I was the lucky mascot for Scotsman Lieutenant William MacLanachan, a fighter pilot in the First World War with 40 Squadron Royal Flying Corps. William, nicknamed "McScotch", was an "ace" pilot, who shot down seven enemy aircraft over the Western Front.
I helped William to survive the First World War, as fighter pilots then had a life expectancy of just 3 weeks.
